From September 28, 2023, "Redbus" - a car for collecting donor blood - will be operating in Lviv. Such special transport is the first of its type and passability in Ukraine. He can visit donors in any district center or town of the region. The Brotherhood implemented this initiative to make the donation process as convenient and accessible as possible, allowing medical teams to travel directly to donors.
Compared to pre-war times, the need for blood has increased 4-5 times, and therefore the availability of a mobile type of blood collection is extremely relevant. So the members of the Business Fraternity purchased an ambulance in Germany at their own expense. All the equipment was purchased and equipped according to the advice of doctors, after which Redbus was handed over to the regional blood center.
Redbus has everything you need for safe blood collection, allowing you to carry out donation procedures right on the spot. Two donors can donate blood at the same time. Inside there is equipment for donation, storage and transportation of donor blood. Thanks to this, the hospitals of Lviv and the region significantly increased the amount of available donor blood, which is critically important for saving the lives of the sick and wounded.
The project not only provides an important resource for medical needs, but also contributes to the formation of a culture of donation in Ukraine, increasing social awareness and responsibility among citizens. We believe that initiatives of this scale play a key role now.
